Sad Truth about Post-Grad Dating Life

I’m finally single after wasting my time with my college “sweetheart,” where are all the prospects? Finally (university life) it's over. No more frat guys and immature girls. Coming 25, eh? This is the year known to some as the first year of real adulthood, the demise of our early 20s; or perhaps the beginning of our quarter-life crisis is upon us. It’s the age when our parents’ threats of cutting us off become a sad reality, your friends start getting married (at least some of the girls).

After university, the dating pool significantly narrows. As you get older, it becomes harder to deal with the sad truth that finding the love of your life has just become a lot more difficult. But why is it that it’s so hard now? Why does it seems impossible to find someone that you can stand, let alone love? It’s like there is no one good out there anymore. You keep meeting people with horrible taste, stupid ideas and just overall shitty qualities. Before, you used to worry about keeping love and now you’re just worried about finding it. *haha*

Back then, everyone has a hidden motive; that's sex. Lets face it: women want to get married and men want to fuck - but not all of them. It’s exhausting to find someone whom you can openly understand and with whom you can find a level playing field. These days whenever you talk to someone, you are both just trying to get through the bullshiit to see if there is anything mutual between you both. Usually the conversation ends with both parties disappointed and alone.

Now that everyone is working and no longer have the energy like when we were young to have fun or partying, meeting up people and hook up with potential partner. Unlike university, everyone you meet isn’t a potential date. There are more off limit areas. You don’t want to date people at your job, can’t meet anyone at friend's party and you no longer have time to meet your soul mate sitting in a cafe because you simply don’t have the time. Work takes up a majority of our days and because we shouldn’t date anyone at work, it’s pretty much a dating catch 22.

With our current situation, everyone is earning 4-digits salary, few of them spent on something exclusive and/or unnecessary items. Well, nothing is wrong with that as we are still young enjoying our life before settling with someone. While ii am still single ii saved up most (90%) of my part-time's 3-digits wage, but soon will disappear on my vacation in December.

It's funny to hear some commitment(s) people couldn't keep their promises. What's the point to date if ii couldn't take care of myself. Now that ii am poor and ii can't afford any expensive dinner. It's not like my money goes somewhere on unnecessary stuffs, ii have started investing my future. Well, at least, so much better than those who earn 4-digits but can't save any 2-digits money in the bank. So my point is, we have so much expense and unnecessary stuffs to spend on thus it's hard to keep dating alive. I understand men these days don't have to spend his money entirely on the girl on a date, 'cause both parties can split the bill, but ii like to keep my chivalry as a gentleman. Well, ii hope ii don't find a gold-digger slut monster.

Graduating from college comes with many changes. The most significant would be the loss of friendships, as you move away from your old life and into another. Your life is about you and no one else. Last but not least...
